LG Networks takes part in sponsored walk to fight MND

LG Networks takes part in sponsored walk to fight MND - LG NetworksTragedy can strike any one of us, but so few expect it to happen to them. Our colleague Linda’s husband Phil Lush was sadly diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease on the 11th of January 2017.  This life-limiting disease affects 1 in every 300 people in the UK and as many as six people are diagnosed with it every day.

It wasn’t until we began researching the condition that any of us realised the impact it would have not only on Phil, but on all the family and friends that will be supporting him through this difficult time. At present, there is no cure on the horizon.

With that in mind, some of the team here at LG Networks decided to take part in a 10-mile sponsored walk on Sunday 21st May for MNDA.

The weather shone for us, and spirits were high for the 370 people who took part in the walk from Leigh on Sea. We’re proud to announce that we’ve already managed to raise £570, but it’s just a drop in the ocean of what’s needed to fight this disease.

We’re hoping that our contribution will fund much-needed research for future sufferers. The money raised on this walk will go towards a specialised blood test, which researchers believe will allow for a quicker diagnosis — meaning that support will be available immediately.

If you would like to donate to this cause, you can do so through this link. You’ll earn the sincere gratitude from everyone here. (It’ll also ease our blisters also a bit more today!)

Thanks from The Team here at LG Networks.
