Choosing the Right Business Broadband Option: What Is Right for You?
Businesses of all sizes rely heavily on an Internet connection. Without it they simply cannot function. Inconsistent speeds or connections ‘dropping out’ at critical moments are just a few negative experiences that many of us would prefer to forget. In this new digital era, connectivity is critical for almost every business.
We take the time to understand your working styles, data requirements, growth plans and business tools, systems, technologies and platforms, in order to ensure you select the right business broadband for your organisation.
What are your business broadband options?
Often called ADSL, is a copper line all the way from your local exchange into your business premises. This service is widely available but due to the length of the connection, speeds are often too slow to support even basic business requirements, it’s best avoided if possible.
Fibre to the cabinet broadband
FTTC uses fibre optic to the green cabinet at the end of your street, then copper from that cabinet to your building. Speeds are better, usually fast enough for a small office, but the service will slow down at busy times as local network usage increases.
Fibre to the premises broadband
FTTP uses a shared fibre optic from the exchange all the way to your building. Speeds are excellent, but at the moment availability is limited and where it is available it’s still a shared service, which will slow down when the network is busy. It’s also primarily an unmanaged service so many businesses will find the longer response times potentially damaging.
