VoIP technology
Simplified.
Effective VoIP communications are at the heart of every business’s daily communication. Ensuring your customers and team can talk directly to each other – wherever they are based, whenever they need to – is core to a successful business operation.
Since the decline of the traditional copper phone lines and on-premises telephone systems, VoIP has now proven itself as the perfect solution to almost every business’s communications needs.

What is VoIP?
VoIP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol, is simply a method of sending our voice traffic over an internet service, rather than the traditional copper telephone lines. In the early days of VoIP, calls could sound echoey and would often drop out. Nowadays, VoIP, (thanks largely to the much improved availability of high speed internet) is a high quality and stable platform being used by businesses large and small all over the country.
VoIP services are essentially a massive telephone system hosted across several UK data centres, and you just rent a small slice of that telephone system on a monthly basis. So, whether you need 5 or 500 users, the system is infinitely scalable and even a small business can get access to all the system features that were previously only available to those with a multi-national corporate budget.
Benefits of using VoIP
Remote Working
Because VoIP systems are internet based, the physical location of the users are irrelevant. Whether you have 50 people in one single office or 50 people working from 50 homes, it makes no difference to the VoIP system - it’s fully flexible. If you can access an internet service, you’re connected!
Work from Anywhere
With a VoIP system, you are never tied to a specific location or device. You could work in your office on a desk phone; you could work from a laptop with a softphone and Bluetooth headphones; or you could work from a smartphone app. And importantly, you can do all of those - you don’t have to choose one or the other. Each user licence allows a single user to connect to up to four devices.
Scalability
VoIP systems are completely scalable, so you’ll never outgrow it. If you’re a growth business, then it’s perfect. You can start with the number of users you need for now and can add users as your business grows.
Feature Set
All users, whether you’re an established multi-national or a small start-up, are accessing the same service. That means that on top of the basic user licence, you’ll have access to a whole host of features if you’d like them. Previously, services like call recording, call monitoring, on hold services and call queuing were very expensive - often out of the reach of small or start up businesses. That is no longer the case; there are a whole raft of features that you can add-on if you’d like to.
Disaster Recovery
A VoIP telephone system is an essential part of your disaster recovery plan. Because you can work from anywhere with an internet connection, should the worst happen to your office, you can simply decamp to another location (even home) and the system will continue to work exactly as it did in the office.
